The Asus ROG G751 did a little
better than previous models Asus in design, but it is still far from the
aesthetics offered by brands like Razer and MSI. For now, we must choose
between a slim ultrabook kind or the latest components. Asus has opted for the performance
at the expense of style. It is also perhaps what is most important for the kind
of clientele that the PC address. The chassis of the G751 thickens towards the
rear, giving the illusion of a thinner when viewed from the right angle
housing.
The decor is minimalist happily. The matt black bonnet adorns in its center, with a brushed metal plate
that goes up to the hinge. This plate is hosting the manufacturer's name and
logo of its range ROG (red backlit). The floor area of the housing is so great
that the screen does not come to the rear edge. The hinges are positioned a few
centimeters before the trailing edge. Just behind two huge tinted ventilation
grilles in red take place. The backlit keyboard is well thought out for the
game. The necessary keys are highlighted by a red rim. The keys themselves are
tall and comfortable, the space bar is slightly wider in its left half, to make
it more accessible during the phases of play. The top of the keyboard houses a
series of dedicated keys. One of them allows to directly launch the Steam
application, game distribution service online.
Another touch of a video camera
launches NVIDIA Experience suite with the ShadowPlay application that record
and broadcast a sequence of a video game, like what we do with Twitch. The
touchpad has retained the right and left buttons, giving it a retro side. But
you rarely serve because anyway, the games can be controlled with a mouse or a
joystick. The screen displays a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which
remains a standard for the game, even if we meet more and more screens with a
higher resolution. Rare enough to emphasize the use of a screen that has a
matte anti-glare coating.
